Our non-profit organization provides creative problem solving skills and practice for students after school using the Odyssey of the Mind competitions as a showcase.  Teams solve complex long-term problems, create skits to demonstrate their solutions, and perform for judges at regional competitions. Students learn what is considered creative and practice spontaneous problem solving skills each time the team meets.

Mission:

ODYSSEY OF THE MIND AFTER SCHOOL will:
Foster creativity by providing an educational alternative which develops students’ creative problem solving skills through experimentation, original thinking, and risk taking.

Encourage the development of cooperation, self-respect, sportsmanship, and the appreciation and understanding of others.

Provide a positive atmosphere where quality team work and competitive sportsmanship are exhibited.

Give students recognition and a sense of achievement.

Reward creative and original thinking, create experiences that develop essential life/survival skills.

Improve students’ communication skills.

Raise public awareness of creative problem solving and opportunities within the Odyssey of the Mind International program.
